Oxford Psychology Society
About Us
Oxford Psychology Society aims to bring together students interested in psychology to support their exploration of the field of psychology and its related disciplines.
We also wish to allow those students interested in psychology to socialise and network, in a range of events such as movie nights and board games nights. We would like to promote new and exciting areas of psychology with engaging speaker events, with academics from Oxford and a wide range of other universities, where our members can ask questions and further their knowledge of psychology. We also run events collaborating with other societies in order to promote interdisciplinary areas of psychology and highlight the links with other fields.
We have previously collaborated with Oxford University Linguistics Society to host quiz night, as well as hosting a talk as part of Somerville Arts Week. In future, we are planning to highlight the pivotal role of women in psychology in collaborative events with Oxford Feminist Society and OxWEST. We are planning to host study groups to support the academic achievement of psychology students and ensure that they can access any help they need in a friendly and welcoming environment.
Membership to our society is not just limited to psychology students because we aim to promote the enjoyment and study of the field of psychology to as wide a population as possible. We would like to allow members to explore psychology in depth through events like museum trips, such as a trip to The Freud Museum in London.
